Gary Lineker
Lineker started of fhis career playing for Leicester City between 1979 and 1985 beofre moving on to play for Everton.
Lineker made his mark in the domestic football scene, while playing for Everton. He was the top goal scorer in the first division during the 1985-86 season and soon moved to Spain to play for Barcelona. In time for the 1989-90 season, Lineker was outstanding as he scored 24 goals for Spurs, helping them reach third position. He won the FA Cup with Tottenham in 1991. Lineker left Spurs at the beginning of the 1992-93 season, moving to Japan, playing for a Japanese club.
Lineker came into the spotlight of England’s national football team during the 1986 world cup finals in Mexico. He scored a famous hat trick against Poland, two goals against Paraguay and a further against Argentina, to earn the world cup golden boot.
